What the water left behind

A flash flood had run through this place and left downed trees and limbs scattered across three acres. Debris like this is awkward work. It is spread thin over a wide area, it is tangled, and a lot of it is lying in and around a creek that is steep to get into.

Trying to mulch scattered debris where it lies wastes most of the day driving between it. The faster way is to gather first, then grind.

Pile with the excavator, grind with the mulcher

The Cat 310 worked the property and pulled the scattered material into piles. Once the debris was concentrated, the Tigercat M726G came through and mulched the piles down where they sat.

Two machines doing what each is good at got the whole three acres done in a single day.

Wet ground and a steep creek

The creek access was steep and parts of the property were still soggy from the flood, which limits where a machine can safely work and how hard it can push. There was rock through it as well. We worked the dry ground first and gave the wet areas time, which is the difference between finishing in a day and tearing up a property that has already had a rough week.
