Our high horsepower dedicated mulchers run 300+ HP and chew through heavy cedar and mesquite at a pace no skid steer can match. That is how big tracts get cleared in days instead of weeks. We bring these machines when your material runs bigger than 8 inches in diameter and the property has access for an 11 foot wide machine.
For material up to 8 inches in diameter, our skid steer mulchers fill the gap. Subdivision lots, tree preservation, tight fence lines, and finish work around structures, they get in where the big machines cannot. Low ground pressure protects your topsoil, and they clear selectively around the oaks you want to keep.

Most of Jack County is unincorporated ranch country, and there is no permit office between you and clearing your own cedar. Inside the Jacksboro city limits, check with the city before grading or working near creeks and easements. Either way, the phone call is free and we will tell you straight what applies to your property.
Estimates usually happen within a few days of your call. Most residential jobs run one to three days on site, and larger acreage moves at several acres a day with the dedicated mulchers. One local quirk: post oak sand works wet a good deal better than clay does, so we lose fewer days to rain here than crews do east of the Trinity. You get a start window with your quote and a heads up before we roll in.
Our pricing is a transparent day rate: $3,000 per day for the skid steer mulcher with transport included, or $4,000 per day plus transport for the high horsepower dedicated mulcher. Solid cedar on the breaks runs at the slower end of a machine’s pace, scattered mesquite at the faster end. Send photos and acreage and we will tell you which machine and how many days before anything is scheduled.
On unincorporated Jack County land there is no permit office between you and clearing your own brush. Inside city limits, check with the city before grading or working close to creeks and easements, and check your deed restrictions if you are in a subdivision. We can talk through it on the phone before you commit to anything.
Material size decides it. Anything over 8 inches in diameter always gets the high horsepower dedicated mulcher. Under 8 inches on smaller properties, the skid steer mulcher fills the gap. On most Jack County ranch work the dedicated machine earns its keep fast.

Blueberry cedar cut below the green does not come back, and the mulch layer slows new seedlings. Redberry cedar can resprout, so on redberry ground we cut lower and recommend a follow up pass or goats a few seasons later. Either way you are years ahead of a dozed pile and a burned scar.
