Pierce Land Clearing provides land clearing, forestry mulching, and brush removal services across Graford, TX and the Possum Kingdom lake country. From cedar on the Palo Pinto hills to mesquite on the ranch flats, our crews work this corner of North Texas on a regular loop. Tell us what you want kept and what you want gone, and you get a straight day rate quote and a crew that shows up when they said they would.
Tell us about your property. We usually reply the same day.
Takes about 30 seconds. No spam, no sales calls, just your quote.
Graford sits between two kinds of clearing work. The lake country around Possum Kingdom wants a careful touch: cedar thinned so the view opens without scalping the slope, fire fuel cut back from homes, and building envelopes cleared clean for construction. The county ranch land wants production: mesquite ground down by the acre, cedar off the hills, pastures back in grass. Forestry mulching handles both without burn piles or haul off trucks, because everything we cut is ground into mulch that stays on your ground, holds your topsoil on the slopes, and feeds the grass on the flats. Our crews run purpose built mulching machines on transparent day rates, so a Graford lake lot or a Palo Pinto County pasture gets the same straight answer: which machine, how many days, and what it costs, before we ever start.

A lot of land clearing companies rent whatever the equipment yard has that week. We own purpose-built forestry machines and match them to your terrain. Not sure which machine your property needs? Try our cost calculator for an instant answer.
Our high horsepower dedicated mulchers run 300+ HP and chew through heavy cedar and mesquite at a pace no skid steer can match. That is how big tracts get cleared in days instead of weeks. We bring these machines when your material runs bigger than 8 inches in diameter and the property has access for an 11 foot wide machine.
For material up to 8 inches in diameter, our skid steer mulchers fill the gap. Subdivision lots, tree preservation, tight fence lines, and finish work around structures, they get in where the big machines cannot. Low ground pressure protects your topsoil, and they clear selectively around the oaks you want to keep.
The cedar photos on this page come from our multi day job at Jacksboro, in Jack County next door, the same hills and the same solid cedar Graford ground grows. For a documented before and after, see our 3 acre selective homesite clearing project at Cleburne. This is the loop we run, not a one time trip.

Send photos and property details for a fast quote, or meet us on-site and we will walk it with you. Either way you get a firm number, free.
Our crew and machines do the work, selectively and cleanly. The mulch stays right where it falls, protecting the soil and feeding the grass. No burn piles, and no haul off needed.
You get open ground, clean sightlines, and land you can actually use again. If your project calls for full site prep, we handle that too.
Every property prices a little differently. A lake lot on a slope is a different day than a flat mesquite pasture. Send us your address, lot size, and a few photos and we can usually put a real number on it the same day.
Most companies make you chase a number. Here is ours. The machine we bring depends on the size of your material and the access on your property.

Day rates help you budget. When you send photos or have us walk the property, you get a firm total for the whole job, free either way. For a deeper breakdown, read our guide on what it costs to clear land in Texas.
I'm so glad I found Taylor and Bobby to help me clear our land. We were tired paying to rent wood chippers, tractors, shredders, chain saws, etc, and still not being done with the project. Then came Taylor and Bobby. Not only did they do a better job than we could, they did it fast, efficiently, and saved us TIME and MONEY. They did a BEAUTIFUL job and now our land gives us bragging rights. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Outstanding operation! The big tree masticator ate cedar and mesquite standing as well as brush piles. Old trails cleared and widened. New trails created meandering through the property. Hardwoods left intact.

Absolutely outstanding quality work by Pierce Land Clearing. Two days into the clearing the operator became ill and with no delays a new operator was dispatched to complete the job on schedule. Without a doubt, would use them again.

Palo Pinto County ranch land is unincorporated, and there is no permit office between you and clearing your own brush. Around Possum Kingdom, POAs and water district rules can apply near the shoreline, so check your section’s restrictions before dirt work. We are happy to talk it through before you commit to anything.
Estimates usually happen within a few days of your call. Most residential jobs run one to three days on site, and larger acreage moves at several acres a day with the dedicated mulchers. One local quirk: post oak sand works wet a good deal better than clay does, so we lose fewer days to rain here than crews do east of the Trinity. You get a start window with your quote and a heads up before we roll in.
Our pricing is a transparent day rate: $3,000 per day for the skid steer mulcher with transport included, or $4,000 per day plus transport for the high horsepower dedicated mulcher. Cedar slopes above the lake run slower than open mesquite flats, and the estimate reflects which one you have. Send photos and acreage and we will tell you which machine and how many days before anything is scheduled.
On unincorporated Palo Pinto County land there is no permit office between you and clearing your own brush. Inside city limits, check with the city before grading or working close to creeks and easements, and check your deed restrictions if you are in a subdivision. We can talk through it on the phone before you commit to anything.
Material size decides it. Anything over 8 inches in diameter always gets the high horsepower dedicated mulcher. Under 8 inches on smaller properties, the skid steer mulcher fills the gap. Steep or tight lake lots usually get the skid steer, open ranch ground gets the dedicated machine.
It gets ground into mulch right where it falls. The mulch layer protects your topsoil, holds moisture, and breaks down into the ground. No burn piles, no haul-off trucks, and nothing left for you to deal with.
Yes, and most customers should. We flag or walk the keep trees with you first, then mulch everything else around them. Selective work takes a little longer than a full clear cut, which is why the two price differently, but you keep the shade and the property value.
Estimates usually happen within a few days of your call, and most residential jobs run one to three days on site. We run established loops through this part of Texas, so transport to Palo Pinto County is routine for us, not a special trip.
Neither. We clear half acre homesites and we clear tracts in the hundreds of acres, with a documented 127 acre public utility job on our books. The machines and crew scale to the work.
Yes. Selective clearing is most of what we do on lake property: the cedar and scrub come out, the hardwoods and view trees stay, and the slope keeps its root structure so it does not wash. We walk the lot with you first and flag everything that stays.
Every job we publish carries the acreage, the machines, the days on site and what it actually cost. 41 projects documented across Texas so far.
