SERVING CANEY CITY & CEDAR CREEK LAKE

Caney City Land Clearing & Brush Removal

Pierce Land Clearing works Caney City and the south end of Cedar Creek Lake in Henderson County. This is the quieter side of the lake, more acreage and pasture than shoreline lots, and the work is usually taking back ground that yaupon and sweetgum have closed in over a decade of nobody touching it.

What Customers Say About Working With Us

Rated 5 out of 5

I am so glad I found them to help me clear our land. We were tired of paying thousands of dollars to rent wood chippers, tractors, shredders, and chain saws, and still not being done with the project.

Never easy to write a big check, but well worth it. After two days they completely transformed a ten acre holly-choked mess into an open and inviting forest. Taylor bid the job and recommended the larger dozer-sized forestry mulcher.

Permits in Caney City

On rural Henderson County land you own, clearing generally needs no permit and agricultural work is exempt from most regulation in Texas. Caney City is incorporated and has its own ordinances, some subdivisions carry deed restrictions, and work near the water line falls under the Tarrant Regional Water District which controls Cedar Creek Lake. If your place carries an agricultural exemption, a call to the county appraisal district before you change how the ground is used is worth the time.

How Long Does It Take?

Estimates usually happen within a few days of your call. Most residential jobs run one to three days on site, and larger acreage moves at several acres a day with the dedicated mulchers. One local quirk: sand over clay in the bottoms stays soft long after the ridges have dried, so we work the high ground first when the weather turns. You get a start window with your quote and a heads up before we roll in.

Caney City Land Clearing FAQs

Priced by the machine day. A high horsepower mulcher is $4,000 per day plus transport and is usually the right machine on acreage down this end of the lake, a skid steer mulcher is $3,000 per day with transport included for tighter work, and dozer or excavator work is $3,000 per day plus transport. One day minimum on every machine.

Yes, and on the south end of the lake it is a lot of what we do. Yaupon, sweetgum and greenbriar come off, the ground goes back to grass, and on ground that was pasture in living memory the seed bank is usually still there so it comes back without help once sun reaches the soil.

Not in Henderson County. Our tractor work, discing and seeding, is Central Texas only. Here we clear and leave you open ground with a mulch layer on it, which is good condition for seed, and the planting is yours or your seed contractor.

Some of it. Yaupon returns readily from the base and sweetgum will send up shoots, which is ordinary for East Texas sand rather than a failure of the clearing. Budget a maintenance pass in year two or three; it is far cheaper than a second full clear.

Yes, and it is worth doing before you fence rather than after. A line cut through standing brush costs more and comes out crooked, and a new fence in the way turns a one pass job into a careful one.

Yes, along with Payne Springs, Gun Barrel City, Tool and the rest of the Cedar Creek shoreline. Transport is a written line reflecting the distance.

It is mulched in place and left on the ground as cover, which on sand helps hold the soil through a hard rain. Nothing hauled off, nothing burned, no disposal fees.
