The Land Around Houston

Land clearing in Houston, Texas is a fight against growth that never takes a season off. Pine, yaupon, privet, and Chinese tallow can take an untended tract back in five years, and the clay under it all punishes the wrong equipment. Our tracked forestry mulchers are matched to exactly this: low ground pressure for the wet months, high horsepower for the solid growth, and a grind-in-place finish that needs no burning and generally no haul off.

Across Houston, Katy, Cypress, Tomball, and Waller we handle development tract clearing, pipeline and utility right of way, pad sites and detention areas, acreage and ranchette clearing, invasive removal including tallow and yaupon, and fence line work on the metro’s edges. Commercial insurance is in place and schedules get kept.

Pricing is straightforward. Skid steer mulchers run $3,000 per day with transport included. High horsepower dedicated mulchers run $4,000 per day plus transport. Photos, an aerial, or a site plan gets most Houston quotes done the same day, from an infill lot to a full tract. Call 512-400-2693 and a project manager will answer, seven days a week.

Forestry Mulching 13

High Horsepower Dedicated Mulchers

Our high horsepower dedicated mulchers run 300+ HP and chew through heavy cedar and mesquite at a pace no skid steer can match. That is how big tracts get cleared in days instead of weeks. We bring these machines when your material runs bigger than 8 inches in diameter and the property has access for an 11 foot wide machine.

Land Clearing 6

Skid Steer Mulchers for Precision Work

For material up to 8 inches in diameter, our skid steer mulchers fill the gap. Subdivision lots, tree preservation, tight fence lines, and finish work around structures, they get in where the big machines cannot. Low ground pressure protects your topsoil, and they clear selectively around the oaks you want to keep.

What Customers Say About Working With Us

Rated 5 out of 5

Just had a fence line for a 50 acre tract cleared. Some ravines, trees, trash trees. It is amazing! Will with his magic machine cleared that path and much more. Stumps, dead trees, things that the pioneers could have only dreamed of.

Amazing service and final product. Hunter, Jonathan and Dustin were the operators for both the tree mulcher and the rock mulcher. Their work completely transformed my property. My only regret is that I did not have it done sooner.

Outstanding company. Cleared out around 9 acres of mesquites and prickly pears and some broken down oak trees. The operators are very good at what they do and very courteous. I have some more projects coming up and for sure I know who to call.

Permits in Houston

Houston famously has no zoning, but clearing still touches rules: the city tree ordinance protects street and parking lot trees on commercial projects, floodplain and detention requirements follow Harris County Flood Control on much of the metro’s ground, and the surrounding cities and MUDs each carry their own development standards. Residential and ag land outside those triggers clears without permits. We flag exactly what applies when we quote your project.

How Long Does It Take?

Estimates usually happen within a few days of your call. Most residential jobs run one to three days on site, and larger acreage moves at several acres a day with the dedicated mulchers. One local quirk: the Blackland clay east of I-35 gets greasy after rain, so we watch the weather and schedule around it rather than tearing up your ground. You get a start window with your quote and a heads up before we roll in.

Houston Land Clearing FAQs

Skid steer mulchers run $3,000 per day with transport included, for material up to 8 inches in diameter. High horsepower dedicated mulchers run $4,000 per day plus transport, for solid growth and larger tracts. Metro infill lots usually run a day, and acreage on the edges scales from there. Send photos or a site plan and you will usually have a real number the same day.

Both. Inside the metro we clear infill lots, easements, and development tracts. Outside the loop is where most of the acreage work lives: Waller, Montgomery, and Fort Bend county ground where the pine, yaupon, and tallow have taken over old pasture. The photos on this page include our pasture reclamation work northwest of town.

The Houston area’s two worst invaders, and mulching handles both. Tallow grinds clean and the mulch layer slows the reseed, yaupon grinds into the same mat, and the ground goes back to grass or gets held clean for development. Regrowth management with follow up passes or spraying keeps both beaten.

With mulching, nothing needs to leave the site. Everything grinds into a mulch layer that controls erosion and keeps dust down, and there is no burning, which matters inside the metro where burning is off the table. Haul off is generally not needed.

Gulf coast clay stays wet half the year, and our tracked machines are the right tool for it: wide tracks, low ground pressure, and no rutted-out mess. Genuinely saturated ground we schedule around, and we are straight with you about timing.

Yes. Tract clearing ahead of dirt work, pipeline and utility right of way, pad sites, and detention areas are regular work, with commercial insurance in place and schedules kept. Our 38 acre commercial clear in Brownsville, linked below, ran exactly that playbook.

We run the Houston corridor regularly through Conroe, Magnolia, and Montgomery. Most jobs get on the calendar within a couple of weeks, and commercial timelines get scheduled to the day.

Yes. Photos, an aerial screenshot, or a site plan will get most Houston quotes done the same day. For larger tracts, mark the boundaries on the aerial and we will price the clearing phase directly against it.
