We bring these machines when your material runs bigger than 8 inches in diameter and the property has access for an 11 foot wide machine.
For material up to 8 inches in diameter, our skid steer mulchers fill the gap. Subdivision lots, tree preservation, tight fence lines, and finish work around structures, they get in where the big machines cannot. Low ground pressure protects your topsoil, and they clear selectively around the oaks you want to keep.

Rural Wise County clearing on your own land needs no permit, and agricultural work is exempt from most regulation in Texas. Inside Chico city limits, clearing tied to a build runs through the normal permitting process. If your place carries an agricultural exemption, keeping it is worth a call to the county appraisal district before you change how the ground is used.
Estimates usually happen within a few days of your call. Most residential jobs run one to three days on site, and larger acreage moves at several acres a day with the dedicated mulchers. One local quirk: post oak sand works wet a good deal better than clay does, so we lose fewer days to rain here than crews do east of the Trinity. You get a start window with your quote and a heads up before we roll in.
Priced by the machine day. A high horsepower mulcher is $4,000 per day plus transport, a skid steer mulcher is $3,000 per day with transport included, and dozer or excavator work is $3,000 per day plus transport. One day minimum on every machine. Most jobs around Chico are one or two days.
Usually with access and the building site, because everything else is easier once you can drive the place and know where the house goes. Then open the pasture you actually intend to graze. Clearing the whole twenty on day one is rarely the best use of the money and we will tell you so when we walk it.
Yes. Old push piles grind faster than standing timber because the material is already down, and it saves you a burn permit and a weather window. Nothing gets hauled off.

Cut cedar does not resprout from the stump the way mesquite does, so mulching it is a real fix rather than a delay. What returns is seedlings out of the seed bank and off neighbouring ground, which is a mowing question rather than a reclearing one. Keep after the small stuff and the job holds for years.
Less of a problem here than out on the blackland. Sandy ground around Chico drains fast and we can usually work within a day or two of rain. Creek bottoms and low ground are the exception and we will say so when we walk it.
