For material up to 8 inches in diameter, our skid steer mulchers fill the gap. Out in the county, clearing brush on your own ranch almost never needs a permit. Agricultural land clearing is exempt from most regulation in Texas, and McCulloch County does not add local layers on top of that. Inside Brady city limits the main things to watch are floodplain rules along Brady Creek and utility easements, and if your clearing is part of a build, your site plan handles it. We flag anything that needs attention when we quote the job, so nothing catches you by surprise.

With mulching, nothing needs to leave your property. Everything grinds into a mulch layer that protects the soil, holds moisture, and feeds the grass as it breaks down. It usually does. Cedar is thirsty and it crowds out the grass your cattle and wildlife need. On open mesquite flats a dedicated mulcher can knock out 2 to 3 acres a day, sometimes more in light brush. Thick cedar runs closer to 1 to 1.5 acres. Skid steer mulchers average half to three quarters of an acre a day. That production gap is why big Brady ranch jobs almost always get the big machines.
