Reno runs along the northeast corner of Parker County toward Azle and Eagle Mountain Lake, and it is one of the faster changing parts of the county. Places that ran cattle twenty years ago are five and ten acre homesites now, and both kinds of owner have the same cedar problem for different reasons. The rancher wants grass back and the fence lines clean. The homeowner wants a view, a building site, and the oaks kept.
The ground underneath is the same either way, Cross Timbers sand over rock, and it breaks up quickly as you get toward the lake. Forestry mulching covers most of it. Fence line clearing is worth doing before you build the fence rather than after, because a line cut through standing brush costs more and comes out crooked.

A lot of land clearing companies rent whatever the equipment yard has that week. We own purpose-built forestry machines and match them to your terrain. Not sure which machine your property needs? Try our cost calculator for an instant answer.
Our high horsepower dedicated mulchers run 300+ HP and chew through heavy cedar and mesquite at a pace no skid steer can match. That is how big tracts get cleared in days instead of weeks. We bring these machines when your material runs bigger than 8 inches in diameter and the property has access for an 11 foot wide machine.
For material up to 8 inches in diameter, our skid steer mulchers fill the gap. Subdivision lots, tree preservation, tight fence lines, and finish work around structures, they get in where the big machines cannot. Low ground pressure protects your topsoil, and they clear selectively around the oaks you want to keep.
The photographs on this page are from clearing work on Texas ground of the same kind. For documented jobs with acreage, machines and day counts, see a 3 acre selective homesite clearing in Cleburne and a 15 acre full cedar clearing in Hico.

Send photos and property details for a fast quote, or meet us on-site and we will walk it with you. Either way you get a firm number, free.
Our crew and machines do the work, selectively and cleanly. The mulch stays right where it falls, protecting the soil and feeding the grass. No burn piles, and no haul off needed.
You get open ground, clean sightlines, and land you can actually use again. If your project calls for full site prep, we handle that too.
Every place is different, so the number comes down to acreage, how thick the cedar, post oak and mesquite has gotten, what you want left standing, and how the machines get through your gates. Transport to Parker County is built into the quote up front, so the number you are given is the number you pay.
Most companies make you chase a number. Here is ours. The machine we bring depends on the size of your material and the access on your property.

Pierce Land Clearing just finished a 2 day job forestry mulching my 10 acre lot. Most of the job consisted of making dead pines and oaks, standing and fallen, disappear.

My experience was the best hands down. I liked the direct upfront pricing and how it was stated clearly what would be done. The operator Jonathan went above and beyond to take care of our property and listened to what was important to us.

I have used Pierce Land Clearing to clear out property that I own on two different occasions. Each time two different operators but same result: amazing work!!! It is impressive what their forestry mulchers can accomplish so quickly.

On rural Parker County land you own, clearing generally needs no permit and agricultural work is exempt from most regulation in Texas. Inside Reno city limits, clearing tied to a build runs through normal permitting.
Estimates usually happen within a few days of your call. Most residential jobs run one to three days on site, and larger acreage moves at several acres a day with the dedicated mulchers. One local quirk: post oak sand works wet a good deal better than clay does, so we lose fewer days to rain here than crews do east of the Trinity. You get a start window with your quote and a heads up before we roll in.
Priced by the machine day. A high horsepower mulcher is $4,000 per day plus transport, a skid steer mulcher is $3,000 per day with transport included, and dozer or excavator work is $3,000 per day plus transport. One day minimum on every machine. Most homesite and fence line work around Reno is one or two days.
Not from the stump. Ashe juniper, what everybody here calls cedar, does not resprout once it is cut below the lowest green limb, which is why mulching works on it. What comes back is seedlings from the seed already in your soil and from whatever your neighbours have standing. Plan to walk it every few years and knock the new ones down while they are small.
Regularly. Cross Timbers ground goes from sandy loam to limestone shelf in the space of a few feet. A mulching head does not care, but grubbing and digging do, so rock changes the machine and the pace. That is why we walk a property before quoting rather than pricing off an aerial photo.
That is most of what we do here. The post oaks and live oaks are usually the reason somebody bought the place, and cedar is what is choking them. An operator running a mulching head can take juniper out from between oaks without touching the canopy you want kept. Mark anything you want protected before we start and it stays.
It does not affect a mulching job, and that is a real advantage on this ground. Mulching leaves a chip layer on the soil instead of a pile, so there is nothing to burn and nothing to haul off. Parker County sits under a ban a good part of the year, and stacking brush you cannot legally burn just moves the problem to next season.
There is no such thing on the mulching side. Solid cedar brake, cedar, post oak and mesquite, decades of no management, we have a machine for it. What changes with density is the pace, so heavy ground runs at the slower end of a machine day and open ground at the faster end. Acreage on its own will not tell you the number.
On rural land you own, generally no, and agricultural work is exempt from most regulation in Texas. Inside a city limit, clearing tied to a build runs through normal permitting. If your place carries an agricultural valuation, call the appraisal district before you change how the land is used.
Usually within a couple of weeks, sometimes faster if a job ahead of us finishes early. Send photos and acreage and we can normally put a real number on it the same day. Transport is quoted up front, so the figure you are given is the figure you pay.
