Land Clearing in the Heart of the Bosque Valley

The Bosque valley around Clifton is classic Texas cedar economics: every acre the cedar takes is an acre the grass, the springs, and the property value lose. Forestry mulching flips those acres back. The machine grinds cedar standing, the mulch stays as ground cover on the thin limestone soil, and the live oaks and pecans that make this valley what it is never feel a blade. We reclaim pastures at ranch scale, cut homesites with a careful selective touch, clean up storm damage without burn piles, and mill shallow rock into ranch road base where the ground calls for it. With documented work at Morgan and jobs across the county line in every direction, Clifton is home ground for our machines, priced in day rates you know before we start.

High Horsepower Dedicated Mulchers

Our high horsepower dedicated mulchers run 300+ HP and chew through heavy cedar and mesquite at a pace no skid steer can match. That is how big tracts get cleared in days instead of weeks. We bring these machines when your material runs bigger than 8 inches in diameter and the property has access for an 11 foot wide machine.

Skid Steer Mulchers for Precision Work

For material up to 8 inches in diameter, our skid steer mulchers fill the gap. Subdivision lots, tree preservation, tight fence lines, and finish work around structures, they get in where the big machines cannot. Low ground pressure protects your topsoil, and they clear selectively around the oaks you want to keep.

What Customers Say About Working With Us

Rated 5 out of 5

I am so glad I found them to help me clear our land. We were tired of paying thousands of dollars to rent wood chippers, tractors, shredders, and chain saws, and still not being done with the project.

Excellent work. Our property was complex as we wanted to save some trees, and the operator was amazing at maneuvering around them to clear the 7 acres we cleared.

They did a great job for us. We had them clear our 4 acre residential lot of about 3 acres of cedar and yaupon. Some of the cedars were old and huge while other areas were very dense.

Permits in Clifton

Bosque County ranch land is unincorporated, and there is no permit office between you and clearing your own cedar. Inside the Clifton city limits, check with the city before grading or working near the river and drainage ways. Either way we will walk you through it before anything is scheduled.

How Long Does It Take?

Estimates usually happen within a few days of your call. Most residential jobs run one to three days on site, and larger acreage moves at several acres a day with the dedicated mulchers. One local quirk: rock, not mud, sets the pace here. Limestone sits close to grade, so we plan around what is under the topsoil more than around the forecast. You get a start window with your quote and a heads up before we roll in.

Clifton Land Clearing Questions, Answered

Our pricing is a transparent day rate: $3,000 per day for the skid steer mulcher with transport included, or $4,000 per day plus transport for the high horsepower dedicated mulcher. Solid cedar on the breaks runs at the slower end of the pace, scattered brush in the bottoms at the faster end. Send photos and acreage and we will tell you which machine and how many days before anything is scheduled.

On unincorporated Bosque County land there is no permit office between you and clearing your own brush. Inside city limits, check with the city before grading or working close to creeks and easements, and check your deed restrictions if you are in a subdivision. We can talk through it on the phone before you commit to anything.

Material size decides it. Anything over 8 inches in diameter always gets the high horsepower dedicated mulcher. Under 8 inches on smaller properties, the skid steer mulcher fills the gap. Most Bosque County ranch work earns the dedicated machine, in town lots fit the skid steer.

It gets ground into mulch right where it falls. The mulch layer protects your topsoil, holds moisture, and breaks down into the ground. No burn piles, no haul-off trucks, and nothing left for you to deal with.

Yes, and most customers should. We flag or walk the keep trees with you first, then mulch everything else around them. Selective work takes a little longer than a full clear cut, which is why the two price differently, but you keep the shade and the property value.

Estimates usually happen within a few days of your call, and most residential jobs run one to three days on site. We run established loops through this part of Texas, so transport to Bosque County is routine for us, not a special trip.

Neither. We clear half acre homesites and we clear tracts in the hundreds of acres, with a documented 127 acre public utility job on our books. The machines and crew scale to the work.

It is the most reliable result we see. Mature cedar intercepts rain before it reaches the ground and shades out everything below it. Take the cedar off a break and the first wet season tells you everything: seeps run longer, grass fills between the oaks, and wildlife moves back in.

Real Projects, Linked and Documented

Every job we publish carries the acreage, the machines, the days on site and what it actually cost. 45 projects documented across Texas so far.

We build ponds and stock tanks here too. Bosque County clay will usually seal a pond without a liner, which takes the largest variable out of the price: see pond construction in Clifton.
