Forestry Mulching 13

High Horsepower Dedicated Mulchers

Our high horsepower dedicated mulchers run 300+ HP and chew through heavy cedar and mesquite at a pace no skid steer can match. That is how big tracts get cleared in days instead of weeks. We bring these machines when your material runs bigger than 8 inches in diameter and the property has access for an 11 foot wide machine.

Land Clearing 6

Skid Steer Mulchers for Precision Work

For material up to 8 inches in diameter, our skid steer mulchers fill the gap. Subdivision lots, tree preservation, tight fence lines, and finish work around structures, they get in where the big machines cannot. Low ground pressure protects your topsoil, and they clear selectively around the oaks you want to keep.

What Customers Say About Working With Us

Rated 5 out of 5

The Pierce Land Clearing team did an excellent job on our property near Gonzales, Texas. Johnathan arrived, started, and finished on time. When the machine had a hydraulic issue, they sent a mechanic on-site, and still managed to complete the work as scheduled. We recommend them and plan to use them again.

Top notch company, top notch equipment, most importantly top notch people! I have a landscape company in Austin that generates tons of brush and leaves. Bobby came out and made mince meat out of our mountains of brush!

Permits in Belton

Rural Bell County clearing on your own land needs no permit, and agricultural work is exempt from most regulation in Texas. Inside Belton city limits, clearing tied to a build runs through the normal permitting process. If your place carries an agricultural exemption, keeping it is worth a call to the county appraisal district before you change how the ground is used.

How Long Does It Take?

Estimates usually happen within a few days of your call. Most residential jobs run one to three days on site, and larger acreage moves at several acres a day with the dedicated mulchers. One local quirk: the blackland clay here gets greasy after rain, so we watch the forecast and schedule around it rather than tearing up your ground. You get a start window with your quote and a heads up before we roll in.

Belton Land Clearing FAQs

Priced by the machine day. A high horsepower mulcher is $4,000 per day plus transport, a skid steer mulcher is $3,000 per day with transport included, and dozer or excavator work is $3,000 per day plus transport. One day minimum on every machine. Most jobs around Belton are one or two days.

Usually, and it is a common reason people call. Ashe juniper grows dense and holds its foliage right to the ground, so taking it out while leaving the live oaks and elms standing opens the line of sight without stripping the lot. We mark what stays before anything starts.

Yes. Old push piles grind faster than standing timber because the material is already down, and it saves you a burn permit and a weather window. Nothing gets hauled off.

It changes what is possible more than what it costs by the day. Mulching brush off shallow limestone works fine and the day rate is the same. Anything that has to go below the surface, a pad cut or a pond, gets priced from a test pit rather than a guess, because the rock decides it.

On rural Bell County land you own, generally no, and agricultural work is exempt from most regulation in Texas. Inside the Belton city limit, clearing tied to a build goes through normal permitting. Check before you clear inside the limit.

Cut cedar does not resprout from the stump the way mesquite does, so mulching it is a real fix rather than a delay. What comes back is seedlings out of the seed bank and off neighbouring ground, which is a mowing and maintenance question, not a reclearing one. Keep after the small stuff and the job holds for years.

Less of a problem here than out on the blackland. The rocky ground around Belton drains fast and we can usually work it within a day or two of rain. Low ground and creek bottoms are the exception and we will say so when we walk it.

Yes, along with the rest of Bell County. Transport is a written line on the quote reflecting the distance.

It is mulched in place and left as a layer on the soil, which holds ground through a hard rain and slows what tries to come back. No hauling, no burning, no disposal fees.

Real Projects, Linked and Documented

Every job we publish carries the acreage, the machines, the days on site and what it actually cost. 45 projects documented across Texas so far.

We build ponds and stock tanks here too. Bell County clay will usually seal a pond without a liner, which takes the largest variable out of the price: see pond construction in Belton.
