A lot of land clearing companies rent whatever the equipment yard has that week. We own purpose-built forestry machines and match them to your terrain. Not sure which machine your property needs? Try our cost calculator for an instant answer.
Our high horsepower dedicated mulchers run 300+ HP and chew through heavy cedar and mesquite at a pace no skid steer can match. That is how big tracts get cleared in days instead of weeks. We bring these machines when your material runs bigger than 8 inches in diameter and the property has access for an 11 foot wide machine.
For material up to 8 inches in diameter, our skid steer mulchers fill the gap. Subdivision lots, tree preservation, tight fence lines, and finish work around structures, they get in where the big machines cannot. Low ground pressure protects your topsoil, and they clear selectively around the oaks you want to keep.

Our crew and machines do the work, selectively and cleanly. The mulch stays right where it falls, protecting the soil and feeding the grass. No burn piles, and no haul off needed.
You get open ground, clean sightlines, and land you can actually use again. If your project calls for full site prep, we handle that too.
Every place is different, so the number comes down to acreage, how thick the mesquite, elm and hackberry has gotten, what you want left standing, and how the machines get through your gates. Transport to Ellis County is built into the quote up front, so the number you are given is the number you pay.
Most companies make you chase a number. Here is ours. The machine we bring depends on the size of your material and the access on your property.

I have been working with Pierce on projects for roughly a year and he has been top notch in all aspects. Taylor is a great communicator and very thorough in his work. Any issue we have had has always been resolved quickly and with all parties in mind.

Just had a fence line for a 50 acre tract cleared. Some ravines, trees, trash trees. It is amazing! Will with his magic machine cleared that path and much more. Stumps, dead trees, things that the pioneers could have only dreamed of.

Had a 4 acre job with hundreds of trees and underbrush. Probably been 50 years since this property was touched. Called and scheduled Pierce Land Clearing and from start to finish was satisfied. Communication was great.

Rural Ellis County clearing on your own land needs no permit, and agricultural work is exempt from most regulation in Texas. Inside Maypearl city limits, clearing tied to a build runs through the normal permitting process. If your place carries an agricultural exemption, keeping it is worth a call to the county appraisal district before you change how the ground is used.
Estimates usually happen within a few days of your call. Most residential jobs run one to three days on site, and larger acreage moves at several acres a day with the dedicated mulchers. One local quirk: the blackland clay here gets greasy after rain, so we watch the forecast and schedule around it rather than tearing up your ground. You get a start window with your quote and a heads up before we roll in.
Priced by the machine day. A high horsepower mulcher is $4,000 per day plus transport, a skid steer mulcher is $3,000 per day with transport included, and dozer or excavator work is $3,000 per day plus transport. One day minimum on every machine. Most jobs around Maypearl are one or two days.
It will be if it is left. Cedar out here is early enough that a single pass handles it, and unlike mesquite it does not resprout from the stump, so mulching it is a real fix rather than a delay. What comes back is seedlings, which is a mowing question. Dealing with it now costs a fraction of dealing with it in ten years.
Yes. Old push piles grind faster than standing timber because the material is already down, and it saves you a burn permit and a weather window. Nothing gets hauled off.
Yes, and horse ground is worth doing properly. Mesquite stobs and cut stumps left proud of the ground are a real hazard, so on horse pasture we take the crown out and leave the surface clean rather than just knocking the tops off. Tell us it is for horses and we will price it that way.
On rural Ellis County land you own, generally no, and agricultural work is exempt from most regulation in Texas. Inside the Maypearl city limit, clearing tied to a build goes through normal permitting. Check before you clear inside the limit.
From the crown, yes, if it is only mulched. Mesquite resprouts from below the soil line, so on ground you want back in production properly the crown has to come out, which is dozer or excavator work rather than a mulching head. We will tell you which your ground needs.
Blackland clay is the reason we ask. Working saturated ground tears ruts that outlast the job and does not clear any faster. If your place is soaked we will tell you to wait rather than take the deposit and make a mess.
Yes, along with the rest of Ellis County. Transport is a written line on the quote reflecting the distance.
It is mulched in place and left as a layer on the soil, which holds ground through a hard rain and slows what tries to come back. No hauling, no burning, no disposal fees.
Every job we publish carries the acreage, the machines, the days on site and what it actually cost. 41 projects documented across Texas so far.
