The Land Around College Station

Land clearing in College Station, Texas keeps pace with one of the fastest growing metros in the state. Between Aggieland’s expansion and the yaupon that swallows Brazos County ground, there is always land here that needs opening up, and we clear it with forestry mulchers that protect what makes these properties valuable: the post oaks overhead and the soil underneath.

Around College Station, Wellborn, Millican, and Navasota we handle yaupon and understory clearing, homesite and lot prep for new construction, development tract clearing on schedule, pasture reclamation on the county roads, and fence line corridors. Mulching in place means no burn piles, no haul trucks, and no scraped root zones killing your post oaks two summers later.

Pricing is straightforward. Skid steer mulchers run $3,000 per day with transport included. High horsepower dedicated mulchers run $4,000 per day plus transport. Photos or onX pins get most Brazos County quotes done the same day, whether you are in College Station, Wellborn, Millican, Snook, or Navasota. Call 512-400-2693 and a project manager will answer, seven days a week.

Forestry Mulching 13

High Horsepower Dedicated Mulchers

Our high horsepower dedicated mulchers run 300+ HP and chew through heavy cedar and mesquite at a pace no skid steer can match. That is how big tracts get cleared in days instead of weeks. We bring these machines when your material runs bigger than 8 inches in diameter and the property has access for an 11 foot wide machine.

Land Clearing 6

Skid Steer Mulchers for Precision Work

For material up to 8 inches in diameter, our skid steer mulchers fill the gap. Subdivision lots, tree preservation, tight fence lines, and finish work around structures, they get in where the big machines cannot. Low ground pressure protects your topsoil, and they clear selectively around the oaks you want to keep.

What Land Clearing Costs in College Station

I can not say enough about this great family owned and operated company. My call was answered on a Sunday morning and they moved their machine in the very next day and began work, the week of Christmas.

Permits in College Station

Rural Brazos County clearing on your own land needs no permit, and agricultural work is exempt from most regulation in Texas. Inside College Station city limits, development clearing runs through the normal site plan process, and floodplain rules apply along Lick Creek, Carters Creek, and the Brazos bottoms. If your clearing is part of a build, your builder’s permits cover it. We flag anything that needs attention when we quote.

How Long Does It Take?

Estimates usually happen within a few days of your call. Most residential jobs run one to three days on site, and larger acreage moves at several acres a day with the dedicated mulchers. One local quirk: the Blackland clay east of I-35 gets greasy after rain, so we watch the weather and schedule around it rather than tearing up your ground. You get a start window with your quote and a heads up before we roll in.

College Station Land Clearing FAQs

Skid steer mulchers run $3,000 per day with transport included, for material up to 8 inches in diameter. High horsepower dedicated mulchers run $4,000 per day plus transport, for heavy growth and bigger acreage. Around College Station that covers everything from an acre lot to a development tract. Send photos and acreage for a real number, usually the same day.

Yaupon is the Brazos Valley specialty and yes. It grows dense enough around College Station to hide a truck, but it is soft material and mulches fast. The post oaks stay, the yaupon goes, and the land opens back up.

Constantly. Growth around Texas A&M pushes new neighborhoods, student housing, and commercial sites further out every year, and we prep tracts of every size: cleared, grubbed where pads go, and handed to the dirt contractor ready to work. We are comfortable on a schedule and a site plan.

We treat them with respect, and mulching is the gentlest method there is for them: machines ride on top of the ground, roots stay covered by the mulch layer, and there is no scraping. Flag your keepers and the operator works around them.

With mulching, nothing needs to leave your property. Everything grinds into a mulch layer that protects the soil, holds moisture, and feeds the grass as it breaks down. There are no brush piles to burn and no haul off trucks to pay for, which is a big part of why mulching costs less than traditional clearing.

The Brazos Valley is a regular run for our crews and most College Station jobs get on the calendar within a couple of weeks. Photo quoting means your number comes today, not after a site visit.

In typical Brazos Valley growth a dedicated mulcher covers 2 to 3 acres a day, and even solid yaupon moves quickly because it is soft material. Skid steers average half to three quarters of an acre. We will give you a day count with the quote.

Yes. College Station, Bryan, Wellborn, Millican, Navasota, Snook, and the whole valley are one service area for us, and we keep a dedicated Bryan land clearing page with more on the north side of the metro.
