The Land Around Argyle

Land clearing in Argyle, Texas is estate acreage work, and the trees are usually the point. This is Western Cross Timbers ground: sandy loam over sandstone with post oak and blackjack on the rises, cedar elm and hackberry in the low ground, and eastern redcedar filling every gap that has been left alone. Nobody buys an Argyle place to scrape it. They buy it for the oaks and the room, and the job is getting the junk out from under them without touching what matters.

Around Argyle, Bartonville, Copper Canyon and Double Oak we handle understory mulching under mature oaks, redcedar removal, building envelope and driveway clearing on restricted lots, fence line corridors, arena and turnout clearing on horse property, and storm cleanup. Because the lots are large but the neighbours have opinions, this is often skid steer work, and everything grinds in place. No burn piles, no chipper running for a week, no trucks in and out of a gated road.

Pricing is straightforward. Skid steer mulchers run $3,000 per day with transport included. High horsepower dedicated mulchers run $4,000 per day plus transport. Photos or onX pins get most Denton County quotes done the same day. Call 512-400-2693 and a project manager will answer, seven days a week.

High Horsepower Dedicated Mulchers

Our high horsepower dedicated mulchers run 300+ HP and chew through heavy cedar and mesquite at a pace no skid steer can match. That is how big tracts get cleared in days instead of weeks. We bring these machines when your material runs bigger than 8 inches in diameter and the property has access for an 11 foot wide machine.

Skid Steer Mulchers for Precision Work

For material up to 8 inches in diameter, our skid steer mulchers fill the gap. Subdivision lots, tree preservation, tight fence lines, and finish work around structures, they get in where the big machines cannot. Low ground pressure protects your topsoil, and they clear selectively around the oaks you want to keep.

Super friendly and efficient! Got the job done in one day, clearing out all the dead cedar while leaving the pretty oaks. Excellent job, thank you!

They did a great job for us. We had them clear our 4 acre residential lot of about 3 acres of cedar and yaupon. Some of the cedars were old and huge while other areas were very dense.

These guys take a lot of pride in what they do. This doesn't even look like the same property. The operator walked the property with me before he started and the outcome was exactly what I'd hoped for. Will definitely recommend to anyone that asks. Great job guys, much appreciated.

Permits in Argyle

Clearing your own land in unincorporated Denton County needs no permit, and agricultural work is exempt from most regulation in Texas. Inside Argyle town limits there are tree preservation rules worth reading before anything comes down, and a great deal of the acreage here also carries deed restrictions or an HOA with its own protected tree list. Send us whatever you have in writing and we will work inside it and flag problems before we quote.

How Long Does It Take?

Estimates usually happen within a few days of your call. Most residential jobs run one to three days on site, and larger acreage moves at several acres a day with the dedicated mulchers. One local quirk: post oak sand works wet a good deal better than clay does, so we lose fewer days to rain here than crews do east of the Trinity. You get a start window with your quote and a heads up before we roll in.

Argyle Land Clearing FAQs

Skid steer mulchers run $3,000 per day with transport included, for material up to 8 inches in diameter. High horsepower dedicated mulchers run $4,000 per day plus transport. Most Argyle work is selective understory on one to ten acres, which usually means a skid steer and a day or two.

That is the whole job here. Post oak and blackjack do not transplant and do not come back if you lose them, so we flag every keeper, mulch the redcedar, hackberry and greenbriar out from under the canopy, and leave the trees alone. Selective work costs more per acre than a full clear and on an Argyle place it is the only version worth doing.

No, and it matters. What fills in around Argyle is eastern redcedar, not the eastern redcedar you get west of I-35. It behaves differently and anybody quoting you a Hill Country cedar job has not looked at your ground.

No, it just changes the plan. A lot of the acreage here carries a protected tree list. Send us what you have in writing and we will tell you before we quote whether what you want fits inside it.

Yes, and it is regular work in this town. Horses get moved off the area we are working and ideally out of sight of the machine. Turnout and arena clearing leaves ground you can actually use rather than a field of stobs.

With mulching, nothing needs to leave your property. Everything grinds into a mulch layer that protects the soil, holds moisture, and feeds the grass as it breaks down. No burn piles, no chipper running all week, and no haul trucks on a gated road.

In dense Cross Timbers understory a dedicated mulcher covers 1.5 to 2.5 acres a day, and selective work under a full canopy is slower on purpose. Skid steers average half to three quarters of an acre. You get a day count with the quote.

Yes. Photos, an aerial screenshot, or onX pins with the areas marked get most Argyle quotes done the same day. Flag your keep trees and we will price the work without you waiting on a site visit.
